Established in the Hotel Scheffer-Renan (house of the Dutch painter Scheffer) in a neighbourhood not far from the former cabarets, this museum is an homage to Parisian romantic artists like Georges Sand (Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin, later Baroness Dudevant (1 July 1804 – 8 June 1876) a French novelist and memoirist.)
The Museum displays on the first floor numerous mementos of most
notorious romantic character and writer George Sand, including family
portraits, household possessions, pieces of jewelry and memorabilia
among which plaster casts of the writer's sensuous right arm and
Chopin's delicate left hand, plus a number of her own unique and rare
watercolours called "dendrites".
The garden of the museum is very peaceful. Perfect when you want to rest a little bit.
